چکیده

As one of the most energetic and brightest events, gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) can be treated as a promising probe high-redshift universe. Similar to type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia), GRBs with same physical origin could standard candles. We select GRB samples origin, which are divided into two groups. One group is consisted 31 plateau phase feature constant luminosity followed by decay index about -2 in X-ray afterglow light curves, other has 50 shallow optical curves. For selected samples, we confirm that there tight correlation between $L_0$, end time $t_b$ isotropic energy release $E_{\gamma,iso}$. also find $L_0-t_b-E_{\gamma,iso}$ insensitive cosmological parameters no valid limitations on obtained using this correlation. explore new three-parameter $t_b$, spectral peak rest frame $E_{p,i}$ ($L_0-t_b-E_{p,i}$), used candle constrain parameters. By employing sample only, constraints $\Omega_m = 0.697_{-0.278}^{+0.402}(1\sigma)$ for flat $\Lambda$CDM model. non-flat model, best-fitting results 0.713_{-0.278}^{+0.346}$, $\Omega_{\Lambda} 0.981_{-0.580}^{+0.379}(1\sigma)$. combination smaples, 0.313_{-0.125}^{+0.179}(1\sigma)$ 0.344_{-0.112}^{+0.176}$, 0.770_{-0.416}^{+0.366}(1\sigma)$

Measuring the cosmological parameters with the Ep,i – Eiso correlation of Gamma–Ray Bursts

We have used the Ep,i – Eiso correlation of GRBs to measure the cosmological parameter ΩM. By adopting a maximum likelihood approach which allows us to correctly quantify the extrinsic (i.e. non–Poissonian) scatter of the correlation, we constrain (for a flat universe) ΩM to 0.04–0.40 (68% confidence level), with a best fit value of ΩM ∼ 0.15, and exclude ΩM = 1 at > 99.9% confidence level. If ...

Cosmological Studies with Gamma-Ray Bursts

Gamma-Ray Burst (GRB) explosions from the first generation of stars offer an exciting opportunity to probe the epoch of reionization. Clues about how and when the intergalactic medium was ionized can be read off their UV emission spectrum. Roughly a percent of all GRBs should be strongly gravitationally lensed by intervening stars. A microlensed lightcurve can be inverted to reconstruct the sur...

Cosmological Uses of Gamma - Ray Bursts

Studies of the cosmic gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) and their host galaxies are starting to provide interesting or even unique new insights in observational cosmology. GRBs represent a new way of identifying a population of star-forming galaxies at cosmological redshifts. GRB hosts are broadly similar to the normal field galaxy populations at comparable redshifts and magnitudes, and indicate at most ...

Cosmological Models of Gamma-ray Bursts

We review models of cosmological gamma-ray bursts (GRBs). The statistical and-ray transparency issues are summarized. Neutron-star and black-hole merger scenarios are described and estimates of merger rates are summarized. We review the simple reball models for GRBs and the recent work on non-simple reballs. Alternative cos-mological models, including models where GRBs are analogs of active gal...

Gamma-Ray Bursts: Astronomical Constraints

After presenting a short history of gamma-ray burst (GRB) studies, we discuss the current constraints on GRB models which follows from astronomical observations. We concentrate on the energetics of the GRBs with known redshifts and the association of the well-localized GRBs with star forming regions in remote galaxies. We also discuss implications of the observed GRB rate. Arguments are given f...
